Paper Mario

Paper Mario was supposed to be a long-awaited sequel to Super Mario RPG. Even though it turned out to be a different game altogether, it was able to take some of the same great ideas and improve upon them. One of them being the battle system that manages to stay fresh throughout the game and also its own unique graphical style of 2D sprites in a 3D game world. One of my favorite things about the game was the immersiveness of the world. It seemed like all the game locations were connected in some way and also all the little puzzles scattered everywhere that were actually relevant to the current location (not just random puzzles thrown in). It seemed like there was always something to do or something new to find as you played the game.
