Many people would probably put Super Mario Bros higher up on their list. The reason why it's so low on mine is because I got it at the same time as I got Super Mario World and Mario 3. To me, those games improved on the mechanics and gameplay of the original Mario Bros so it was hard for me to go back and play the original without it feeling a bit repetitive and uninteresting. I still respect the game for pioneering the Mario theme that I have enjoyed in my games throughout my life.
